THE PURPOSES OF SYMPOSIUM
The Ottoman Empire started as a small tribe in the western Anatolia in 1299. Growing steadly and rapidly over time, the Ottoman ruled a vast area that spanned from the Black Sea in the North to Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula in the south, and from the Persian Gulf in the east to central Europe and North Africa in the west .The Ottoman influenced many aspects of socio-economic life in these territories. However, the traces of theOttomanEmpire in these regions stil need to be identified.
The Ottoman Traces Symposium is intended to bring scholars from different disiplines together to identify thetraces of Ottoman Civilization, and top romote interdisiplinary studies in suchareas as governance, economy, architecture, art, history, literature and daily life in the Ottoman Empire.
